Penny and I hiked in the Petroglyph National Monument. There are hundreds of these symbols, the handprints are reported to be a signal to define territory, normally that of a shaman or medicine man. It was really hot and I had bought Penny botties for hiking, and it was funny to see a pittie mix prancing like a chihuahua (hot sand, maybe that is why they walk that way??)
