A beautiful drive through Big Bend, the Rio Grande River which separates US and Mexico runs through the park. There are border patrol stops along the highways down in that area, but I never saw a wall. At the stops they just asked if I was an American Citizen and they had dogs walk around outside the camper. I was able to take a hike up above the Rio Grande and see into Mexico, it looked exactly like the US side(lol). There were some farmers (or border patrol?) out on horses with 5 dogs stopping for a drink on the river. Going into the park I did see border agents with 5 guys sitting on the ground next to a truck in the shade, they looked pretty dusty, so probably some folks they caught crossing. Nothing untoward was happening. I did not meet any people, there was a family setting up next to me, then when I took Penny for a walk around the campground, they were gone.
